Description

Handmade Red Cedar Etrog Citron Sukkot Box with Walnut Cedar Wood Accents The Etrog box takes its convex shape by literally curving the sides of the rectangle and laminating the inside with solid cherry. The top features curved edges for a sophisticated contemporary look. I use hidden hinge pins for the top for smooth and effortless opening. The Etrog box is used to store the ritual fruit Etrog, (a citrus type fruit) during the Jewish ceremony Sukkot. Etrog is the perfect gift for the Jewish Sukkot ceremony or that special person in your life to keep their everyday accessories handy in its felt-lined compartment. I used three hardwoods for this wood art box, Red Cedar and Walnut with a bit of Ash for the lid trim. I designed and crafted the “Etrog” keepsake memory box in my Adirondack New York woodshop using a multi-step finishing process with woods mostly harvested from my own property. Each piece is hand-rubbed using Tung Oil to bring out the natural wood color and grain in a process that provides a natural finish with no added stains or colors. The Etrog box has a contemporary look because of its sophisticated design and attention to detail, highlighted with the striking Red Cedar, Walnut, and Ash accents. Etrog measures 13.5 inches long x 4.5 inches high x 8.5 inches wide. I lined this box with green felt though you can request other colors for your compartment or velvet. “Etrog” would make a beautiful addition to a Sukkot ritual or display beautifully on any tabletop, chest of drawers, a dressing table, mantle, or shelf.
